The Small Business Equity Toolkit, sponsored by Mastercard’s Center for Inclusive Growth, is a pioneering tool designed to support local leaders in addressing disparities in business ownership among minority groups. This first-of-its-kind data tool helps leaders offers critical insights into the challenges faced by Black-, Latino-, Asian-, and women-owned businesses across the top 100 metro regions. The tool enables leaders to assess the gaps in their small business ecosystem and develop actionable strategies toward achieving an inclusive recovery.
This toolkit was made possible by the Mastercard Center for Inclusive Growth in partnership with Accelerator for America and Drexel University’s Nowak Metro Finance Lab.
THE CHALLENGE
Making Data Engaging and Actionable
Mastercard tasked Wrecking Ball with transforming a potentially dull data and analytics project into an engaging experience. The challenge was to present complex data in a way that was both visually appealing and easy to navigate. We needed to create an interface that allowed users to understand disparities and develop actionable strategies for inclusive economic recovery.
THE SOLUTION
Intuitive Design and Real-Time Insights
To meet these challenges, we developed a stunning interface featuring 3D mapping and real-time interactive tools. The design allows users to easily compare data across similar cities and gain a deep understanding of the small business landscape. By integrating visually striking elements and intuitive functionality, we ensured that the toolkit would capture and maintain user engagement.
